How Shockwave Works

1

Evaluation

We assess your pain pattern, palpate tissue, and decide if shockwave belongs in your plan — and exactly where to apply it.

2

Targeted Treatment

A handheld device delivers short pulses of mechanical energy into the specific area — precise depth, intensity, and frequency dialed in for your tissue.

3

Stack the Tools

We often combine shockwave with EMTT, manual therapy, or red light in the same session to amplify results and address the full picture.

4

Load & Strengthen

We pair shockwave with targeted exercise so tissue changes stick — you’re not just chasing pain, you’re rebuilding tolerance.

Who can benefit from Shockwave?

Chronic tendon, fascia, or joint-related pain that hasn't fully improved with rest, medication, or standard treatment
Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, tennis elbow, patellar tendinopathy, rotator cuff irritation, or similar overuse injuries
Recent sports injuries, muscle strains, ankle sprains, or overload injuries where you want to get ahead of the pain cycle
Stubborn scar tissue, tight fascia, or lingering tissue sensitivity after an injury or surgery
Active individuals and athletes who want to recover faster and return to training, work, or sport with confidence
Those hoping to avoid or delay injections, medications, or surgery when conservative treatment is still appropriate

What Patients Commonly Notice

Noticeable pain relief, often within the first few treatments
Improved blood flow and healing response in stubborn or injured tissue
Less tenderness, tightness, and sensitivity in the treated area
Faster recovery from tendon, fascia, muscle, and overuse injuries
Better movement, strength, and activity tolerance with fewer flare-ups
Quicker return to sport, work, exercise, and daily life with more confidence

Applied Where It's Needed Most

Our therapists use shockwave with clinical precision — targeting the exact tissue that's stuck in a failed healing loop. No guesswork, no one-size-fits-all protocol.

I’ve had an excellent experience at Timpanogos Physical Therapy. The team is professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping you feel better and reach your goals. I came in for shockwave therapy, electromagnetic therapy, and body sculpting, and every part of the process has been smooth, comfortable, and well explained. What stood out most was how attentive and encouraging the staff were. Phil always took the time to answer my questions. Kelsey really explained what each treatment was doing, and make sure I felt comfortable throughout each session. The newcomer, Ellie, makes sure the environment is welcoming, upbeat, and very professional. I’ve been really impressed with the care, the technology, and the overall experience. I would absolutely recommend Timpanogos Physical Therapy to anyone looking for a team that combines advanced treatment options with thoughtful, personalized care.

I can’t say enough good things about Timpanogos Physical Therapy. Everyone there is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I’ve been experiencing back pain since last October and nothing I was doing was relieving the pain, and as someone who was honestly pretty skeptical about physical therapy, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Dr. Phil was able to help me understand what was really going on and helped me get relief almost immediately, which completely changed my perspective on physical therapy. Every time I go in, I feel better than I did when I walked in, and I’m becoming more and more confident that this is finally going to fix the pain I’ve been dealing with for so long. I’m extremely thankful I decided to give them a chance and for all the help they’ve given me. If you’re experiencing any kind of pain or are on the fence about physical therapy, I highly recommend Timpanogos Physical Therapy. They genuinely care about helping you feel better, and they know what they’re doing!

Highly recommend this physical therapy clinic! The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about their patients. I did the EMS Body Sculpting service and loved it! They took the time to explain the service, answered all my questions, and created an experience tailored to my needs. The atmosphere is welcoming, Ellie and Phil were so great to work with and I can’t wait to go back! Great experience from start to finish!

I had a great experience today with Ellie. I had an introductory session to try out the pelvic floor chair and had a red light session as well. Ellie was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional throughout the whole session. I also met Kelsey who is the Physical Therapy Assistant there. My whole experience was positive and enjoyable. I would highly recommend Timp Physical Therapy to anyone who needs a kind and caring atmosphere to mend and heal.

When I first began treatment, (AGE 70) I was completely unable to open any jar lids, couldn't do a single push-up at all and could barely walk down stairs without incredible pain in both knees. After about a year of treatment I can freely open jars, go on mountain hikes and can crank out 60 pushups in less that 10 minutes. While I still have knee pain and arthritis pain in both hands it is manageable without medications and the pain no longer wakes me up at night. As long as I keep up the exercises they recommended and clean diet, my quality of life is vastly improved and the future looks incredibly bright. All the above achievements were reached without the multiple surgeries that my primary doctor recommended. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. AMAZING Well Trained FRIENDLY CLINIC STAFF that utilized the latest in Physical Therapy Technology.
