What a Session Looks Like

1

Lie Comfortably

During your session, you'll lie comfortably while our PlatinumLED BioMax panels are positioned over the area being treated. Red and near-infrared light are delivered directly to the body to support cellular energy, circulation, recovery, and overall tissue health. Sessions are relaxing, hands-free, and require no downtime.

2

20-Min Session

Red (≈620–700 nm) and near-infrared (≈700–1000 nm) photons are absorbed by your cells — stimulating energy production, circulation, and repair without heat or UV.

3

No Downtime

Sessions are gentle and relaxing. You can go straight into the rest of your PT session or back to your day immediately after.

4

Stack for Best Results

Red light therapy works best as part of a stacked approach — after shockwave or EMTT to support healing, pre-workout to help prime tissues for loading, or post-workout to support muscle recovery and reduce soreness.

How Red and Near-Infrared Light Therapy Works

Red and near-infrared light therapy works at the cellular level. Specific wavelengths of light penetrate the skin and are absorbed by the mitochondria, the part of your cells responsible for producing energy.

This process helps increase ATP production, which fuels cellular repair and regeneration. As energy levels within the cells rise, the body is better equipped to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and accelerate tissue healing.

At Timpanogos Physical Therapy, NIR light therapy in Pleasant Grove is often used alongside rehabilitation programs to enhance outcomes and support faster, more complete recovery. Treatments are quick, comfortable, and customized based on your condition and goals.

Benefits of NIR Light Therapy

One of the advantages of red light therapy is how efficiently it supports the body’s natural processes. Patients often notice improvements in how they feel and move as treatment progresses.

Common benefits include reduced inflammation, improved blood flow, faster tissue repair, and enhanced muscle recovery. Because the therapy is non-invasive and requires no downtime, it can be easily incorporated into both active recovery plans and general wellness routines.

Red Light Therapy for Weight Loss in Pleasant Grove

In addition to its recovery benefits, red light therapy for weight loss can support body composition goals when used as part of a broader health plan.

While it’s not a standalone weight loss solution, light therapy may help stimulate fat cell activity and improve circulation in targeted areas. This can enhance the effectiveness of consistent exercise and nutrition efforts, making it a valuable addition for individuals focused on improving overall body composition.

At Timpanogos Physical Therapy, this treatment is often combined with other performance and recovery services to create a more complete, results-driven approach.

Conditions Treated with Light Therapy

NIR red light therapy is a versatile treatment that can be used for a wide range of conditions. It is commonly incorporated into care plans for muscle strains, joint pain, chronic inflammation, and soft tissue injuries.

It’s also an effective option for reducing post-workout soreness and supporting general recovery, especially for active individuals or those returning to physical activity after time off.

By integrating red light therapy into your treatment plan, we help optimize how your body heals, adapts, and performs over time.

A Personalized Approach to Treatment

No two patients respond exactly the same way, which is why every treatment plan at Timpanogos Physical Therapy is tailored to the individual.

Light therapy is rarely used in isolation. Instead, it’s strategically combined with other therapies, such as manual treatment or guided exercise, to enhance results and support long-term improvements in strength, mobility, and function.

This integrated approach ensures that each session contributes to measurable progress, not just temporary relief.

Timpanogos Physical Therapy is truly second to none. If you’re looking for exceptional physical therapy care, Phil, Kelsey, and Ellie are undoubtedly the best trio you could ask for. From the moment you walk through the door, you immediately know you’re in good hands. Their professionalism, compassion, and genuine concern for each patient are evident in every interaction. I’ve had an excellent experience at Timpanogos Physical Therapy. The team is professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping you feel better and reach your goals. I came in for shockwave therapy, electromagnetic therapy, and body sculpting, and every part of the process has been smooth, comfortable, and well explained. What stood out most was how attentive and encouraging the staff were. Phil always took the time to answer my questions. Kelsey really explained what each treatment was doing, and make sure I felt comfortable throughout each session. The newcomer, Ellie, makes sure the environment is welcoming, upbeat, and very professional. I’ve been really impressed with the care, the technology, and the overall experience. I would absolutely recommend Timpanogos Physical Therapy to anyone looking for a team that combines advanced treatment options with thoughtful, personalized care.

I found out about pelvic floor chairs from a friend and started looking for places that offered sessions in Utah County. I found Timpanogos PT’s offering for an initial consultation and 1st session for $49. When I met Dr Phil Richards he told me he offered the lowest rates in the valley. I checked several other places and the next best price was about double theirs. Dr. Richards and the other staff are very friendly and kind. I can tell the sessions are making a difference too.

Highly recommend this physical therapy clinic! The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about their patients. I did the EMS Body Sculpting service and loved it! They took the time to explain the service, answered all my questions, and created an experience tailored to my needs. The atmosphere is welcoming, Ellie and Phil were so great to work with and I can’t wait to go back! Great experience from start to finish!

I have come to Timpanogus PT twice so far. I had a big gap between 1st and second time. My first visit was the Pel Ch and it lasted much longer than expected. Maybe one of the best life decisions. Lol. Also Ellie and the staff both times has been literally so great to work with. It feels like they genuinely care about the wellbeing of the patients. Also, my web browser gave me a strange phone number. I have new time available and will do as much as I can here. AlSo if you can’t reach them, look them up on Instagram for phone number. But I did let them know so I’m sure they’ll probably fix it.
